These Terms & Conditions set out the agreement between you and us when you enrol for lessons, book a consultation, or use this website and the student/teacher portal. By enrolling or using the site you accept these terms, so please read them carefully.
1. Who we are
In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean the music school operating the MuSKe Musicians Portal, and "you" means the student or, where the student is a minor, the parent or guardian who enrols them. Our contact details are at the end of this page.
2. Lessons and enrolment
Lessons are delivered one-to-one, in your home or online, by a tutor we assign. Enrolment is organised in terms. A term is a fixed block of 10 lessons, and fees are charged per term as set out in our Refund & Payment Policy.
Enrolment is confirmed once we have received your completed registration and the applicable fee or deposit. We reserve the right to decline or end an enrolment where a suitable tutor or schedule cannot be arranged.
3. Scheduling, cancellations and make-up lessons
- Lesson days and times are agreed with you at the start of each term.
- If you need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please give us at least 24 hours' notice so a make-up lesson can be arranged.
- Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed without notice ("no-shows"), may be forfeited and are not normally refundable or rescheduled.
- If a tutor cancels a lesson, that lesson will be rescheduled or credited.
4. Fees and payment
Fees, payment methods (including M-Pesa), due dates, refunds and credits are governed by our Refund & Payment Policy, which forms part of these terms.
5. Your responsibilities
- Provide a safe, suitable space for in-home lessons, and (for online lessons) a reliable device and internet connection.
- Ensure a parent or responsible adult is present at home during lessons for students who are minors.
- Supply or arrange any instrument, books or materials needed for practice, unless we have agreed otherwise.
- Give us accurate contact and billing information and keep it up to date.
6. Tutors
We assign tutors based on availability, instrument and level. We may change the assigned tutor where necessary (for example, illness or availability), and will aim to maintain continuity of teaching where possible.
7. The student portal
We provide a student/teacher portal for scheduling, lesson plans, resources, invoices and payments. Your use of it is also governed by our Acceptable Use Policy. Keep your login details confidential and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
8. Intellectual property
Lesson plans, resources, recordings and other materials we provide are for your personal, non-commercial learning use only. The content of this website belongs to us or our licensors and may not be copied or redistributed without permission.
9. Privacy and communications
We handle your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. By enrolling you agree that we may contact you by email, SMS and phone about lessons, scheduling, invoices and payments. You can opt out of marketing messages at any time.
10. Liability
We provide tuition with reasonable care and skill. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded by law (such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence). Please also see our Disclaimer.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page applies to your current enrolment, and continued use of our services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the Kenyan courts.
